Growth Doesn't Happen Outside Your Comfort Zone!
Nov 03, 2025Growth DOES NOT take place outside your comfort zone,
This is a lie we're told to keep us pre-occupied NOT productive.
This past weekend my buddy and I drove a big 'ol U-Haul truck from CT to TX
Took us 33 hours. Let's just say I had a lot of time to think
On the way down, I watched a lot of Myron Golden videos
He talks about this one concept called Be-Do-Have
He believes all people are already operating at 100% capacity of who they believe to be.
So if you want to have more, you must first do more
And if you want to do more, you must first become more.
It got me thinking...
You ever had someone, maybe a friend, come up to you super excited about something
Then tell you "ohhh you have try this!"
You give it a try and after it's over you think to yourself, "yeah I'm never doing that again!"
The reason this happens is because you went out of order
You did something different before becoming someone different.
Now this happens all the time in the business world
Here's an example
A lot of people want to HAVE more followers, views, engagement, and leads coming from social media
So what do they do?
They attend more classes, pay for more training, watch more videos
All in search for that one tip, trick, hack, shortcut, etc.
They usually get a quick result
But within a few weeks, most people completely fall off and stop posting.
Now I've been trying to find the answer to this for a while now
And I believe I found the answer...
If you want to grow, you must step out of your comfort identity NOT your comfort zone
What's the difference??
Comfort zone = things you do
Comfort identity = things you believe to be true about yourself
Now there's a big disclaimer I want to make
Your comfort identity IS NOT THE SAME as your current identity. Let me explain...
Your current identity is what you consciously think about yourself
Now depending on a bunch of factors, your answer could vary
If a prospective client asked "tell me about yourself?"
You'd probably tell them only good things so they could hire you
VS.
If a therapist asked "tell me about yourself?"
You'd probably tell them all the bad things that you wouldn't share publicly.
Your comfort identity is what you subconsciously think about yourself
Now most people aren't aware of their subconscious thoughts
Which is why the first step to growth is awareness
-
Awareness of your comfort identity
 -
Awareness of your goals
 -
Awareness of the identity needed to obtain those goals
 -
Awareness of the gap between your comfort identity and the identity you need to step into

Growth only takes place in the mind while you're becoming a new person
NOT when you are forcing yourself to do new things.
I completed my 2nd full marathon last month
During the training block leading up to both marathons, I quit training.
Once my long runs started to get over 2 hours long, it reminded how much I hate running
No matter how much I try to convince myself,
I am not a marathon runner or a runner in general
There's 20 other sports/forms of exercise that I would much rather do
So when things got tough, I took my foot of the gas
Now I AM NOT a quitter, so even though my training stopped, I still completed both marathons.
I want to leave you with this...
There is no tactic or strategy that you can learn that will override what you believe to be true
So here's my invitation
If you want to have more leads & clients coming from social media,
You need to do more videos and post them consistently
And if you need to do more videos,
You must first become the go-to expert
That is the only way you'll be able to turn social media from a random wildcard
Into a predictable, reliable, and sustainable lead gen strategy
And that's exactly what I'm covering in my masterclass this Thursday at 12 PM ET
