The Harsh Truth About AI Tools

artificial intelligence content creation Aug 18, 2025

One of the oldest tricks in the marketing book is over promising

And lately I've been noticing a lot more of it in the AI space

Let me give you some context

Most of the AI tools I use are for content creation

I started looking into the marketing language that these companies were using

And it was very misleading

Most of them were promising virality, engagement, and more

So I hate to be the bearer of bad news but here's the reality

There is NO AI tool currently available that will guarantee you go viral

If you don't already have an engaged audience/following,

AI isn't going to magically change that

What happens with a lot of these tools is that they'll find a big creator or influencer to tryout their software

The tools help them to go viral easier, more efficiently, in less time, etc.

Then they use them as a case study for their marketing

What they forget to mention is that the person was already going viral prior to using the tool

Now what does this mean for you

Should you use AI for social media?

Should you not?

I believe you should you BUT...

Reset your expectations of what AI will do for you

AI is not the silver bullet

If you don't understand your target audience your content will continue to perform poorly

With that said, here's a quick list of the tools I use

Riverside to record content

Quso to repurpose content

Metricool to post content

They help me save time, energy, and bandwidth so that I can focus on the important parts of my business

Also while we're on the topic of AI tools for content creation

Stay away from all those AI avatar tools like HeyGen

If you don't know what HeyGen is...

They pretty much create an AI avatar that looks and sounds just like you

All you do is give it a script and it'll generate a video of you

That way you never have to record another video ever again

Sounds good in theory right?

Social media takes a lot of time

Why not use AI to instantly generate all your videos?

Here are the top reasons why I wouldn't do this

YouTube is cracking down on AI generated content

Authenticity is a pre-requisite to build rapport. Can't be authentic if everything is AI

It's lazy

Recording videos helps you practice your communication skills

Most people can tell the difference between AI and a real person

Ultimately, the decision is up to you
