ChatGPT Can Now Remember Everything You Tell It
Apr 14, 2025ChatGPT is currently on a generational run.
The updates they’ve released this year have been absolutely insane.
Last month, I wrote an email talking about the biggest AI misconceptions. One of the key points I made was that ChatGPT does NOT remember everything you tell it.
It could only remember the small piece you put in your custom instructions or whatever you manually told it to store in its memory.
Well guess what!?!?!
Last week, they announced that ChatGPT can now reference info from ALL your conversations.
What Does This Mean for You?
It can actually remember everything you tell it now.
But there’s one catch—you have to make sure this feature is turned on, or it won’t work.
How to Turn On “Reference Chat History”
-
Open up ChatGPT on your mobile or desktop
-
Go to Settings
-
Click on Personalization
-
Make sure “Reference chat history” is turned on
And that’s it—you’re all set.
Why This Matters
I’ve said this in the past and I’ll say it again:
When you know how to use ChatGPT, it truly becomes the world’s greatest personal assistant.
Let me know if this update helps you out.
And I’m curious...
What has been your favorite ChatGPT update so far?
